NFC devices are limited to communication within about 4 inches of each other which is why people have to hold their phones so close to an NFC enabled reader when using Apple Pay or Samsung Pay.

This small radius is considered a major security benefit and it is one of the reasons why NFC is seen as a secure alternative to credit cards.

However, NFC can also be used to transfer data such as files, videos, websites, social info, photos etc. between two NFC-enabled devices. All our Sliq Cards are NFC enabled devices.
